Ja. In den verschiedenen CLIL-Leitfäden für berufsbildende Schulen wird das sogar ausdrücklich empfohlen. Es heißt dort z.B.:
Um dem im Lehrplan verankerten Anspruch der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Fach- und Englischlehrkräften gerecht zu werden, ist die Schulleitung gefordert, unterstützende Maßnahmen in ihre strukturellen Überlegungen einfließen zu lassen. Dies kann folgendermaßen erfolgen: Einsatz der/des Fremdsprachenassistentin/-assistenten auch im CLIL-Unterricht (Unterstützung bei der Unterrichtsplanung und/oder -durchführung als Co-Teacher). /…/

Ab 2. Oktober werden wieder viele Teaching Assistants das Unterrichtsgeschehen, v.a. in den Fremdsprachenfächern, wesentlich mitgestalten. Gerade in den berufsbildenden Schulen können sich für unsere Fremdsprachenassistent:innen aber auch abseits vom Fremdsprachenunterricht völlig neue Welten erschließen. Das führt meist zu äußerst spannenden Begegnungen und Erfahrungen, sowohl für die Teaching Assistants als auch für die Schüler:innen (und ihre Lehrer:innen).

You might ask yourself whether native speakers are better CLIL teachers per se. Keith Kelly, in one of his articles published on the British Council´s Teaching English website, places a word of warning here. He says, “It’s a myth that native speakers make better CLIL teachers than non-native speakers. A British (American, Australian, Canadian, or other) accent is a quaint educational aim, but shouldn’t be a factor in teacher selection. In many ways native speakers have challenges to teaching CLIL which non-native speakers do not. In most CLIL classrooms the teacher speaks the same mother tongue language as the children. This can be a huge advantage and it can be an equally large disadvantage if the teacher doesn’t know the language the children speak at home.…”
I couldn´t agree more. On the other hand, the world of vocational education is such a rich one, such a diverse one, I´m sure your teaching assistants will appreciate the opportunity to dive into and explore. Have them enjoy a tour of your college, participate in various workshops and lab lessons or experience the world of the hotel and catering business. So much to see, so much to talk about. Be sure, both your students and your teaching assistants will love it.
